News about Portugal and the coronavirus, written in English and delivered to your inbox
If you’re a foreigner (estrangeiro) living in Portugal, it can be hard to keep up with the news. You don’t know who most of the people are and if you don’t speak Portuguese, you don’t know what they’re saying either. It can be tempting to tune out entirely.
I don’t mean to sound like your mum, but right now, it’s really important to know what’s going on around you. You need to know how Portugal is changing to cope with the pandemic and what you should do to keep yourself and other people safe.
So I’m putting together a short newsletter three times a week to keep you updated. It’s designed not to scare you or depress you but to quickly let you know what’s happening in the country you’ve chosen to call home.
I’ll put it out three times a week in plain English, not copy and pasted from Google Translate, with links to all the original articles so you know you can trust them. I can’t stress enough that this isn’t my individual reporting, I’m just highlighting the best stuff I see in the Portuguese media. Hopefully some people find it useful and everyone can be a little bit better informed.
Sorry to be that guy, but it would mean a lot if you shared this around.
Update: I’ve updated this post since expanding to cover more than just coronavirus news and moving from daily to three times a week.
